It's not unique, but I like the outcome very much. It's the same layout I have for my personal homepage which is in development for several years now, due to massive lazyness for personal projects. :D

I especially like the navigation / header part, looks great. :+fav:

I think it would good for artists as well.
On part would be for the gallery/portfolio/blog stuff,
the other could be a huge project the artist has just finished:
a video or a book for example. So that can always stay
on one side of the site, while you can easily surf
on the other :)
